Sean Marshall is a third generation Houstonian and fifth generation Texan. He married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca and they have two children. Saige is eleven and goes to Frank Black Middle School. Salvador is eight and attends Garden Oaks Montessori Magnet. The Marshalls own a home in Candlelight Plaza located in the district’s northern area.
Sean’s pre-school thru middle school education took place in District C. He attended and studied at Little Folks Day Care Center, Montessori Country Day School, Will Rogers Elementary and Hamilton Middle School. He graduated from Jesse H Jones Vanguard High School, earned his undergraduate degrees in Political Science & Philosophy at the University of Houston, and his MBA at Rice University which is also in District C.”
Sean spent the last 14 years working in the Oil & Gas industry. He began his career as a Technical Analyst in Reservoir Engineering, then as an Associate in Corporate Development and is now a Vice President at an Investment Bank. He currently provides advise to clients on multi-billion-dollar Acquisition & Divestiture transactions. Sean serves the community as a director on the board of a local arts organization, a leader in his son’s Cub Scout troop, and as a student liaison for his alma matter Rice University. He is quick to recognize problems and develop solutions.
Once elected Sean intends to use his skill sets to streamline the City’s services and enhance the quality of life within District C

Little Folks
Sean ventured out into the world and away from his parents. He made a lot of friends and had fun learning and playing with others
1988
Montessori Country Day School
Sean learned a tremendous amount at MCDS and was greatly impacted by the Montessori approach to education, something that has stuck with him his entire life
1990
Will Rogers Elementary
Sean attended Will Rogers Elementary where he began to learn about different cultures and ancient civilizations. He made friends with children from all around the city and from all walks of life. He went on to star as Hamlet in Mrs. Wolfe’s fifth grade Shakespeare play
1992
Glassell Art Classes
Sean took art classes as a young man at The Glassell School of Art where he began his passion for the arts. While he never turned into an artist per se, he developed an appreciation for fine art which he and his wife, Rebecca share
1995
Hamilton Middle School
Sean attended Vanguard classes at HMS where he was on the yearbook, played football and managed the basketball team
Heights Festival
This was Sean’s first experience with the heights and all the culture and community it had to share
1997
Fitzgeralds
During middle school, Sean and his friend John began to attend all ages punk rock and ska shows. This is where Sean began a deep appreciation for music and dancing
West Fest
The Westheimer Street Festival was something Sean and his friends looked forward to all year long. It was a wonderful celebration of the neighborhood and the city
1998
Mrs. Fields Cookies
As soon as Sean became legally eligible to work, he took a job at Mrs. Fields cookie store in the Galleria where he learned to run a small business from the ground up
Numbers
Sean and his friends started to go to Numbers nightclub on Friday nights. This was where they were introduced to Electronic Dance Music which would be a part of their lives forever

Sean grew up with cats and was always interested in having a puppy. As soon as he moved out of the house, he got a four-legged friend named Lucky who would change his life forever

Sean began to work with his dad at an Oil & Gas royalty company where he started as a data entry clerk and eventually a technical analyst. He assisted with the evaluation of potential asset acquisitions

2008
Becky & Sean got married
After almost 10 years of dating, Sean & Becky began another chapter in their journey together
Saige was born
Sean & Becky became pregnant shortly after getting married. They had a beautiful baby girl who they love very much
Florida and the Campaign for Change
Sean attended the Senatorial caucus that year and was invited to apply for a Fellowship program for the Obama campaign. He was accepted and moved to Florida where he served as a field organizer
2010
Field organizer for the Bill White campaign
Sean served as a staff member for Mayor White’s gubernatorial campaign where he helped organize volunteers and reach out to voters across the city. This was a wonderful experience that helped shape his aspirations for public service
Salvador was conceived
Becky & Sean became pregnant with their second child, Salvador Douglass. He has such an amazing personality and is everything they could have asked for in a son
Becky graduated from UH
After taking some time off to be with Saige and to give birth to Salvador, Becky completed her undergraduate education and began to study for the LSAT
2011
Sean starts at Atinum
Sean took a roll at a local E&P company where he worked in Reservoir Engineering and Corporate Development. He learned a tremendous amount about the industry and truly began his career
2012
Saige starts at GOMM
Sean and Rebecca applied to public Montessori early childhood education programs and were fortunate enough to be accepted into Garden Oaks. This was their first experience with the area which they soon began to love
2014
Salvador starts at GOMM
Within a few years, their son Salvador followed in his sister’s footsteps and also began to attend GOMM
Sean started at an Investment Bank
After speaking with several recruiters and banks, Sean accepted a challenging roll within an Acquisitions and Divestitures team which he continues to enjoy very much
2016
ALH board
While Sean was in his first year of Business School he applied for a very prestigious program called the Board Fellows. This program pairs a first-year student with a local non-profit board. Sean was placed with Art League Houston and has continued to stay involved with the organization ever since
Salvador starts scouts
Salvador began cub scouts when he was in first grade, and has continued to enjoy the program ever since. His dad became involved with helping to lead his den and continues to do so to this day
Becky graduates from STCL
After 3 long years of law school, Becky graduated with honors and began to study for the state bar
Sean starts at Rice
The week Becky took the bar, Sean began attending Business School at Rice. He enrolled in a professional MBA program which allowed him to work full time and attend school on the weekends
2018
Rice MBA
After two long years of weekend classes which were five hours long, Sean earned his MBA from Rice. He greatly enjoyed the program, learned a lot and made lifelong friendships

Purchased home in CP
Rebecca and Sean purchased their first home in Candlelight Plaza on a wonderful cul de sac. They looked for several months throughout the district and settled on a home they immediately fell in love with
Saige starts softball at Oaks Dad’s then TSA
Saige began to play softball in the Fall at Oaks Dad’s Club then at TSA in the Spring where she was able to participate in the highly competitive All-star team which played in tournaments throughout the summer. The entire family really enjoys to watch her play, and look forward to another fantastic year!

Saige starts at Black
Saige decided she wanted to attend Frank Black Middle School and began this year. She is really taking in all that the school has to offer
Running for city council
After much thought and many long discussions with his family and his firm, Sean decided to enter the race for Houston City Council District C where he hopes to serve as a prudent advocate for the residents of the district
